Compounding Technician Position
Location: Kirk’s Pharmacy and Compounding – 618 S Meridian, Puyallup, WA 98371
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (schedule flexibility open for negotiation)
Pay Range: $22 – $27 per hour (depending on experience)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team. The technician will support our compounding lab by preparing prescriptions, ensuring quality and accuracy, and maintaining compliance with pharmacy standards and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone detail-oriented, motivated, and eager to grow their skills in non-sterile compounding.
Responsibilities

Process and prepare compounded medication prescriptions with accuracy.

Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers regarding prescriptions, payments, and pickup/delivery timelines.

Perform pharmacy calculations, quality assurance checks, and maintain thorough documentation.

Restock and manage compounding supplies; report inventory needs.

Support compliance with pharmacy certification standards, including cleaning and logging requirements.

Learn and demonstrate competency in compounding techniques and use of specialized equipment (mortar/pestle, capsule machines, ointment mills, etc.).

Maintain knowledge of compounding products and referral resources for specialized needs.
Qualifications

Current Washington State Pharmacy Technician License.

Previous compounding experience strongly preferred (community or hospital).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to perform basic math functions and pharmacy calculations.

Knowledge of prescription drug names (brand/generic) and medical terminology.

Attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the pharmacy.

Operate pharmacy and office equipment.

Occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Sufficient dexterity and strength to handle compounding equipment safely.
